Who is Monique?
Monique is all that she believes herself to be.
How do you balance yourself while navigating through a world that is not so accepting of spirituality or individual spiritual practices?
It gets tough maintaining balance but I make it possible. I always tell myself to balance spirituality with practicality. That notion gives me harmony while navigating through this physical plane.
What advice would you give your 10-year-old self?
I would tell 10-year-old Monique to love herself and be a child. I would tell myself to feel your emotions, be playful, laugh and cry.
What are your plans for post-graduation?
I’m not quite sure. I’m still figuring it out, figuring out my way.
If you could sit down and have lunch with anyone, who would it be?
I would sit down and have lunch with Erykah Badu. I relate to all her music and thinks she has something powerful to pass on to younger generations. Badu freely expresses herself and her energy is so radiating.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about being true to myself and I would do anything that reflects that. Practicing different art forms such as modeling and writing allows me to fulfill that passion inside.
